Dauntless - Reforged

Phoenix Labs’ free-to-play monster hunting action RPG Dauntless launched for PC and consoles back in 2019, and though it might not have set the world on fire, the game has gathered a solid and persistent player base that continues to engage with it regularly. While Dauntless is, of course, going to keep chugging along, it seems like developer Phoenix Labs has other irons in the fire as well.

As spotted over on ResetEra, a job ad for the position of lead marketing manager on the developer’s official website confirms that they’re working on a new IP “in the shooter space.” There are mentions of a “live ops plan”, which would suggest that the game will follow a live service model, while the job listing also suggests that it might be a free-to-play title and could release for PC, consoles, and mobile devices. It also seems like Phoenix Labs is looking to emphasize esports with this shooter as well.

Of course, this isn’t a game that has been officially unveiled yet, so hopefully we’ll hear something more about it in the not-too-distant future.
