Call of Duty: Warzone has been one of Activision’s biggest money-makers since its launch in 2020, and it seems the company is soon going to attempt to capitalize on its success in a big way. Recent leaks have suggested that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is in development, and it seems it will be announced soon.

Taking recently to Twitter, prominent leaker and insider Tom Henderson stated that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will be revealed tomorrow. Previously, Henderson has claimed that the game will skip PS4 and Xbox One and launch for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S only, and in recent tweets, states that this will also allow the game to have a 120 FOV option at launch.

Henderson states that Warzone 2 has been “built from the ground up”, which had to happen due to development issues with the first game that apparently emerged due to integration with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War– but specific details on what those issues were or how exactly said integration brought them about haven’t been mentioned.

As for when the game will launch, that remains clear. According to Henderson, Activision says Warzone 2 will launch with the Infinity Ward-developed Call of Duty game due out later this year, rumoured to be Modern Warfare 2– though it’s unclear if both games will arrive together, or if the battle royale shooter will launch later.

Either we, with the game’s reveal apparently right around the corner, we’ll find out soon enough.

Recent reports have claimed that Call of Duty: Warzone 2, the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and next year’s Treyarch-developed Call of Duty game will all release for PlayStation as well, in spite of Xbox’s looming acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Recently, in fact, Microsoft also said that it intended to keep on releasing Call of Duty for PlayStation beyond existing agreements as well. Read more on that through here.
