Activision Blizzard has been under fire for multiple months on account of company-wide misconduct allegations and sexual harassment investigations. Investigations are well underway, and multiple law enforcement authorities such as the likes of DFEH and SEC have stepped in to conduct their own investigations.
As per a recent Wall Street Journal report though, Activision Blizzard continues to resist writs (orders to appear in court) issued by the DFEH, although it’s now seemingly complying with SEC’s orders. Now, the DFEH has widened its scope of investigation and have issued writs against Activision’s directors in an effort to get more background information on CEO Bobby Kotick and other 18 alleged perpetrators within the company.
It is certainly an extensive operation against the company. Microsoft has stepped in to acquire Activision Blizzard for a sum of nearly $70 billion, following which it has been rumoured that current CEO Bobby Kotick will be let go from the company- read more on that through here.
