There’s been a number of examples of late of AAA industry vets leaving big studios and coming together to work on ambitious indie projects as part of new teams. One such team is Yellow Brick Games, led by Dragon Age creator Mike Laidlaw and also comprising former Assassin’s Creed and Rainbow Six devs.
Recently, it was confirmed that the studio’s debut project would be published by Private Division, and now, the studio itself has provided a brief sneap peak at the game over on Twitter. The action RPG will be set in a new world and two pieces of concept art show it off, with one showing a scenic landscape and the other showing someone in combat against a massive enemy with what looks like a giant, mutated arm. Check it out below.
Yellow Brick Games also confirms that the game is being built on Unreal Engine 5. “We’ve made incredible progress thus far and feel fortunate to have such high caliber talent come together. Under the creative helm of Mike Laidlaw and armed with Unreal Engine 5, we are truly making magic come true every day. If building a new fantasy action RPG within an environment of support and respect sounds interesting, please let us know. We’re always looking for other great talented gaming developers to join us on this journey,” says Jeff Skalski, Executive Producer, COO and Co-founder at Yellow Brick Games.”
The untitled project has no release window announced, but Yellow Brick Games confirms that whenever it launches, it will be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
