Star Wars Eclipse Hasn’t Been Delayed, Because a Release Window Was Never Announced – Quantic Dream

Recent reports have heavily suggested that issues with production and recruitment at Quantic Dream have led to the game being internally delayed.

Star Wars Eclipse

Quantic Dream officially unveiled Star Wars Eclipse in December, and while no release window was announced for the game at the time, the assumption was that a steady stream of new details would follow in the coming months. Soon after the game’s announcement though, reports began to emerge, heavily suggesting that Quantic Dream was facing significant issues with production and recruitment, which had stalled the game’s development and thus pushed it back to a 2027-28 target.

What’s Quantic Dream’s position on this? Speaking to GamesRadar, a spokesperson for the studio said refuted reports that Star Wars Eclipse has been delayed- saying that the game was never given a launch date or window to begin with.

Star Wars Eclipse has not been delayed because Quantic Dream never announced or promised a launch window for the title,” the spokesperson said. “Recruiting remains active as it works on Star Wars Eclipse, third-party publishing, and unannounced projects.”

That might technically be true, but the reports, of course, have suggested that the game’s delay is an internal one, due to multiple issues within the studio itself. Quantic Dream’s statement doesn’t really speak to that in anyway, so hopefully there will be more clarity on this front in the not-too-distant future.

Recent reports have also suggested that Quantic Dream is currently working on a narrative-driven medieval dark fantasy game called Dreamland– read more on that through here.
