Eiyuden Chronicle - Hundred Heroes

When Suikoden spiritual successor Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes was first announced and its Kickstarter campaign went live, developer Rabbit and Bear confirmed that it would launch as a cross-gen title for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. They also added that they would release it for whatever the next-gen Nintendo console was going to be, citing the technical constraints of the Switch’s hardware.

Now, however, it looks like they might be looking into the possibility of bringing the game to the Switch itself. In a recent Kickstarter update ahead of the launch of Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising a prequel that is coming to the Switch and will lead into Hundred Heroes – Rabbit and Bear has confirmed that it is undergoing “a technical investigation” that’s looking into a possible Nintendo Switch version.

“While the release of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes has not been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch, we are currently undergoing a technical investigation into development for a Switch version of the game,” the developer says.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that a Switch version has been confirmed. The investigation could result in the developer deciding that bringing the RPG to the current Nintendo platform isn’t possible (or worth the investment, perhaps). Either way, Rabbit and Bear says that if you play Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising on the Switch, you will be able to enjoy all of its crossover content in Hundred Heroes regardless of which Nintendo platform it ends up releasing on.

“If you purchase Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising for the Nintendo Switch, then you will be able to enjoy the crossover content in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes on any Nintendo console version confirmed in the future,” the developer says.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is out today on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, meanwhile, is set to launch next year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
