With the impending release of Battlefield 2042‘s first season, DICE has now confirmed that there will be only one new map added to the game.

Responding to a fan’s question on how many maps will be making it to Battlefield 2042 Season 1, DICE community manager Straatford87 stated that Season 1 will have only one map.

“I can confirm that in the video we are talking about the Season 1 ‘map’, singular,” says the statement by Straatford87 on the official EA Answers forums.

Alongside the reveal that there will only be one new map as part of Season 1, Straatford87 also revealed that Battlefield 2042‘s arsenal of weapons will be bolstered by adding classic weapons from Battlefield Portal into Battlefield 2042‘s All-Out Warfare modes. Meanwhile, as recently confirmed support for the Hazard Zone mode will be winding down.

Battlefield 2042‘s first season is launching in early June. It was originally planned for release earlier in the year, but in February, DICE announced that it was being delayed to early Summer as part of a plan to generally improve the game before the first season kicks off.

Battlefield 2042 recently got Update 4.1, bringing along with it a host of updates and balance changes. The key highlight of the patch, however, is the removal of the game’s 128-player Breakthrough mode. For more details about Battlefield 2042‘s Update 4.1, check out our story covering the update.
