God of War on PC has been updated with patch 1.0.12. The update brings a single fix, but more importantly, it brings a new feature to the game: support for FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 2.0. The new setting for FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 can be found in God of War‘s resolution-scaling options in the display settings menu.
Beyond that, the single fix brought in as part of the update is that the Toggle Aim/Block accessibility features are more consistent in their behaviour.
FSR is essentially AMD’s own take on Nvidia’s popular DLSS technology. FSR uses machine learning to help boost frame rates in supported games, all while keeping the game’s resolution high.
As the PC version of God of War continues to get updates, the PS4 version might be headlining June’s lineup of free PlayStation Plus games. According to a source known for accurately leaking PS Plus lineups in the past, June 2022’s PS Plus Essential lineup will be God of War, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, and Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker.
The 2018 action-adventure title’s sequel, God of War Ragnarok, is currently in the works. Interestingly, there have been multiple recent developments that suggest that it is on track for its release in 2022.
