Earlier this year, Blizzard Entertainment unveiled World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, the ninth major expansion for its long-running MMORPG. Many had assumed at the time that it would be out sometime next year, what with Blizzard having announced no release window at the time, but as it turns out, it’ll be launching earlier than expected.

Blizzard has announced that World of Warcraft: Dragonflight will be out sometime later this year, though a specific release date remains unknown. Pre-purchases have also gone live for the expansion, with three editions currently available, and companion pet Drakks being offered as a pre-purchase bonus.

In addition to the base edition (which costs $49.99), Dragonflight will also launch with a Heroic Edition ($69.99), which, in addition to the base game, will also include the new Murkastrasza pet, a Dragonflight-level character boost to level 60, and a new Tangled Dreamweaver flying mount.

Meanwhile, the Epic Edition ($89.99) will include all of the above, as well as the Timewalker’s Hearthstone effect, the Diadem of the Spell-keeper head-slot transmog, the Wings of Awakening back-slot transmog in five colour variants, and 30 days of game time.

Over on its official store, Blizzard is also selling a physical Collector’s Edition. It will cost $129.99, and in addition to a digital key of the Epic Edition, it will also come with the Art of Dragonflight hardcover book, an Alexstrasza mousepad, and a five-pin collector’s set. Take a look at its contents in the image below.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, Blizzard also announced World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic, which is also due out later this year, while a mobile game titled Warcraft Arclight Rumble is also in development, with a closed beta set to kick off in select regions at some point in the future.
