Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak has been out for roughly a week. While longtime players have no doubt reached the endgame by now, new players may still be working their way through the story. But how exactly do you start the Sunbreak expansion?

First off, complete the 7-star Urgent Quest “Serpent Goddess of Thunder.” This pits you against the final boss of the base game. If you’re starting from the beginning, it’s about 15 to 20 hours to reach this point. Even more content becomes available after slaying the final boss like Apex Monsters, Event Quests, Elder Dragons, Decoration crafting, and annoying Talisman RNG. While these will be essential in creating a strong build, you can worry about them later.

After finishing the Urgent Quest and watching the “ending,” go to the entrance of Kamura Village. Rondine, the trader, will be present and ask to speak to you. The 7-star Quest “Uninvited Guest” will then become available. It involves battling a brand new monster in the Shrine Ruins.

Though not as tough as the base game’s final boss, be careful – they can dish out some real punishment. Don’t worry about grinding out High Rank gear – be patient, use Wyvern Riding and it should fall.

After the hunt, it’s off to Elgado where Master Rank becomes available. You’ll get a few 1-star Master Rank Quests but we suggest veering off the main path and slaying some Velociprey in the new Jungle region. Use their materials and craft your first Master Rank armor set.

Along with higher defense than your High Rank sets, it also has skills like Attack Boost x5, Windproof x3, and Stun Resistance x3. It also provides Decoration Slots for two Level 4, two Level 3, three Level 2 and one Level 1 Decoration. In terms of value and ease of obtaining, the Velociprey Set is your best bet. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is available for Nintendo Switch and PC. Stay tuned for more details and guides on it in the coming days.
