It’s happening again. After many spare summer months and a veritable drought of good game releases, we are coming close to the Christmas rush. As everyone is too busy with Xmas related planning during December, it is in November that we see the majority of big games get launched in time for the holidays. With only a few days until it hits, here are ten of the games that will be leeching funds from your wallet as next month rolls in.

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Some would argue (falsely might I add) that the Zelda series is past its prime but, regardless of your stance on this issue, there is no doubt that the game’s conjure up a certain amount of hype. If the early reviews written so far are anything to go by, then Skyward Sword will be able to raise just as much hype as it predecessors and will silence any sceptics completely. In this regard, Skyward Sword will be a game that fans will not be able to miss.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Oblivion was one of the first truly epic games of this generation and, whilst it has been the Fallout series that has really been boosting Bethesda’s reputation over the past few years, there’s no doubt that Skyrim will make a significant splash when it launches. With the RPG genre now almost being entirely perpetuated by Bethesda’s open world games, there is no doubt that the RPG fans will be splashing out for Skyrim come November.

Silent Hill HD Collection

Horror games are great when done well, and a travesty when done poorly. The second and third Silent Hill games are some of the most recent examples of great horror gaming, so an HD collection comprising both these titles is a no-brainer. Whilst it will retail for much cheaper than the average game, it may run you more than you think. I’d intended to pick this bad boy up on release day but, having heard the terrible new voice acting they’ve used for the legendary Silent Hill 2, I think I’ll be forking out for an original copy and an old PS2 instead; a somewhat more costly, but worthwhile, investment. If you’re of the same inclination as me, it may set you back more than you imagine when the series comes to the fore again next month.
