Nintendo has announced that a bunch of new N64 games are going to be added to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack catalogue in the near future, and while there’s plenty of games in that list of new additions to keep an eye on, perhaps the one that catches the eye more than most is GoldenEye 007.

A re-release of the classic Rare-developed first person shooter has been in the leaks for several months, and it’s now officially been confirmed. Additionally, as you’d expect, the game will also launch for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S via Xbox Game Pass, while Microsoft also confirms that those who own Rare Replay on Xbox already will get free access to the game.

GoldenEye 007’s re-release will come with all of its original content intact, along with support for Achievements, an option for improved dual analog controls, native 16:9 resolution up to 4K, and refresh rate enhancements.

Interestingly, while the Nintendo Switch version of the game will feature online play, the Xbox version will not and will only allow local multiplayer.

A release date hasn’t yet been announced.
