Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will be launching on November 16, bringing a host of gameplay improvements, including a new map, a revamped Gulag, PvE elements with Strongholds and Black Sites, and much more. That said, even after the launch of the upcoming battle royale sequel, the original Warzone isn’t going to go away.

Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Warzone will be relaunched with a new title shortly after the launch of Warzone 2.0. Until November 16, Warzone will operate as per usual, but upon the launch of Warzone 2.0, the game will go offline. After a brief break, on November 28, it will relaunch as Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera, confirming previous leaks that claimed the same.

Warzone Caldera will serve as a separate game, completely unrelated to Warzone 2.0 in terms of progression, content, and updates (though COD Points will be transferrable across both games). Unfortunately, Warzone Caldera will not include the Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep, though Activision says fans of those maps can “expect exciting developments in Warzone 2.0 during future seasons.”

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0’s release on November 16 will coincide with the launch of Season 1 for Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2Among plenty of content additions, Season 1 will also bring a new Battle Pass system.
