The PS5’s long-standing supply shortages are finally beginning to ease up, which means the console has been enjoying improved sales all over the world. In Japan, as per weekly sales data released by Famitsu, the console sold over 93,000 units over the course of last week, which is not only a major bump over last week’s sales (which were already an improvement), but also significantly higher than what the Nintendo Switch managed to sell (which is a very rare occurrence in these charts). Xbox Series X/S also saw a bit of an increase in sales, having moved over 14,000 units during the week.

Curiously enough, in spite of the PS5 being the highest-selling console in Japan last week, not one PS5 title managed to break into the top 10 of the physical software sales charts. In fact, every single game is a Switch title.

Pokemon Scarlat and Violet have climbed back into pole position, selling over 31,000 units, while the likes of Splatoon 3, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Minecraft, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and more slotting into the software charts as well.

You can check out the full hardware and physical software sales charts for the week ending February 5 below.
