Control Resonant’s Assist Mode Lets You Adjust the Challenge (And Won’t Gate Trophies/Achievements)

"Use the settings however you need to and play Control Resonant on your terms," says lead gameplay designer Sergey Mohov.

Control Resonant doesn’t have any difficulty options, but Remedy Entertainment has another way to help mitigate the challenge if it proves too much. On the PlayStation Blog, lead gameplay designer Sergey Mohov detailed how Assist Mode lets you adjust enemy aggression, enemy projectile speed, and the Perfect Dodge window to make things easier.

But that’s not all. Whether it’s incoming or outgoing damage, or even the amount of Falter inflicted on enemies, which can break their stance and expose them to executions, it’s entirely up to you. You can also adjust Power Recovery Speed, giving Dylan access to his abilities more often, and Enhanced Melee Magnetizing which will “make positioning during melee attacks more forgiving.”

And if that’s not enough, and you want the most stress-free experience possible, enable Immortality and even pull off kills and Falters with a single hit. You can enable it at any time, and there are presets available. Of course, the biggest change from the original is the option to increase the difficulty using Assist Mode.

Perhaps most surprising, however, is that Remedy isn’t locking any Trophies or Achievements when using Assist Mode. “Your time is valuable, and how you experience the game is ultimately up to you,” says Mohov. “That’s why we don’t gate any trophies or achievements behind Assist Mode. Use the settings however you need to and play Control Resonant on your terms.” It definitely fits the series’ theme of seizing control, if nothing else.

Launching on September 24th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, Control Resonant is set seven years after the first game’s events. With containment failing at The Oldest House and Manhattan facing a paranatural calamity, Dylan Faden is the best option for the FBC to fight back.
