However, Remedy Entertainment has yet to reveal exact technical details on PS5 Pro support or the resolution for its modes.

Back in March, when it was still in the alpha stage, Remedy’s Control Resonant was targeting 60 FPS on all platforms. If you were worried about the lack of updates, senior level designer Arhi Makkonen has since confirmed to WCCF Tech that console versions will have a 60 FPS Performance Mode.

Of course, this is part of the “classic set-up” on Xbox Series X and PS5, which also includes Quality Mode. “You can decide which one you want.” However, he didn’t mention the resolution or whether the team was using any upscaling.

As for PS5 Pro, it’s a trickier answer. Control Resonant is optimized for the platform, but Makkonen couldn’t provide details on resolution, performance or even PSSR support. “It plays well, but I don’t have the actual figures to give you,” he added. Nevertheless, noting that he would get back with a “firmer answer” indicates that the development team will share more in the coming weeks.

With Control Resonant launching on September 24th for consoles and PC, fans won’t have to wait much longer to experience what Remedy is calling its “biggest and most ambitious game” yet. Last month, the action RPG topped 1.5 million wishlists, and that total has likely increased after its Gamescom Opening Night Live trailer.

Check out more gameplay here, where Dylan battles the Deserter, one of the Resonants. Players can tackle many of these bosses in whatever order they like, or not at all. Head here to learn more about how the game opens up after the first hour or so.
