Tekken 8 – Ling Xiaoyu Stars in New Character Trailer

Xiaoyu is the latest character confirmed for the current-gen sequel, using speed and mix-ups to overwhelm and annihilate opponents.

Tekken 8 - Ling Xiaoyu

Fresh off of revealing Jun Kazama’s move set in Tekken 8, Bandai Namco has released another trailer. The spotlight is on Ling Xiaoyu, a fast-paced fighter introduced in Tekken 3 that can beat opponents in the blink of an eye. Check out her moves below.

As a Chinese martial artist, Xiaoyu is very good at mix-ups, spinning and flipping before unleashing hell. The damage and range aren’t as high as other characters, but you can pull off some pretty crazy combos. Her Phoenix Stance is still present and transitions well into various Heat Actions. With the new focus on aggression, it should be interesting to see how her speed leverages it.

Tekken 8 is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, developed from the ground up on Unreal Engine 5. A release date hasn’t been announced, but Bandai Namco plans to launch it sometime before April 2024. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
