Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 16 went gold last month and is riding high on a well-received State of Play presentation. To further hype the launch, a pre-launch celebration has been announced for June 11th at 3 PM PT/6 PM ET in Los Angeles. It will be live-streamed, so there may be some new gameplay or a live playthrough.

Perhaps the demo will go live on the same day, with progress transferring to the full game. Releasing on June 22nd for PS5, the story takes place in Valisthea, where six realms vie for control over the remaining Mothercrystals. As Clive, players are on a quest for vengeance, battling Dominants and Eikons.

Along with a darker approach to story-telling, Final Fantasy 16 is also a real-time action RPG. There are no turn-based elements, though Timely Support Accessories have been added to make things easier for some players. For more details on the game, check out some raw gameplay here.
