Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a new gameplay trailer for Tekken 8, this time shining the spotlight on Hwoarang. As Jin Kazama’s rival, he specializes in kick-based offense, sweeping his opponent’s leg and striking with mid-air attacks and launchers. Check out how he plays in the upcoming sequel.
As the “Blood Talon,” Hwoarang first debuted in Tekken 3 and is a Taekwondo specialist. While having average speed and relatively weak punches, his reach and the damage of kicks are pretty significant. Of course, he can be vulnerable to counters, so avoid button-mashing too hard.
Tekken 8 is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, developed from the ground up on Unreal Engine 5. Though Bandai Namco says it will release before April 2024, an actual release date has yet to be confirmed. There is crossplay and rollback netcode support, and there could be a beta in the future.
