Project Re Fantasy Officially Titled Metaphor: ReFantazio, Releasing in 2024

Announced in 2017, the epic role-playing game is from director Katsura Hashino of Persona 5 fame and coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Remember Atlus’s Project Re Fantasy, the next title from Persona 5 director Katsura Hashino that was announced in 2017? It finally appeared with an official gameplay trailer and name – Metaphor: ReFantazio. It’s out in 2024 for Xbox Series X/S and PC. Check it out below.

A lot occurs in the trailer, and it’s hard to pin down what’s going on. However, it seems that the player character discovered some novel that led to this battle for the throne. Various characters emerge, some who pledge allegiance to the main character. Of course, the same stylish menus and interface that Persona is known for can also be seen. And yes, the music is composed by Shoji Meguro.

Stay tuned for more details on Metaphor: ReFantazio in the coming months. Atlus is also releasing Persona 5 Tactica, a tactical RPG spin-off launching on November 17th, and Persona 3 Reload, a remake of the classic RPG launching next year.
