Call of Duty Warzone Caldera

Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera, the first battle royale title in the Call of Duty franchise, is shutting down on September 21st. The development team confirmed this was being done to focus on “future Call of Duty content, including the current Warzone free-to-play experience.”

Player progression, online services and inventories related to Caldera will expire on that date. However, content purchased from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Vanguard is still usable in those games. The current battle royale experience, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, will continue with Caldera’s closure having “no impact” on gameplay, inventory or progression in the former.

Launched in March 2020, Call of Duty: Warzone would surpass six million players in less than a day and crossed 100 million players by April 2021. With the release of Warzone 2.0, it was renamed to Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera, with the titular map being the only one currently available to support 150 players.
