Pacific Drive

Ironwood Studios’ first-person survival driving game Pacific Drive has been delayed. Slated to release in 2023 for PS5 and PC, it’s releasing in early 2024. In a series of tweets, the developer said this was to give it room to “make Pacific Drive the best it can be” and prioritize “the health of our team.”

It noted that “every day adds even more to a game we’re all proud of.” Development is in the final stretch, but Ironwood wants to “stay true to ourselves” and “not compromise on the team’s well-being.” There is some good news: A new trailer will debut at the Future Games Show Fall Showcase on August 23rd, 10:30 AM PST, a day after Gamescom Opening Night Live.

Over 50 titles will be at the showcase, with eight world premieres and publishers like Thunderful Games, Nacon, Raw Fury, Frontier Developments and more involved. Stay tuned for live coverage when the showcase airs.

Set in the Olympic Exclusion Zone, Pacific Drive sees players accidentally wandering in and facing its many horrors. As they seek a way to escape, there are parts to scavenge, which can upgrade and improve their ride. Be careful, as each aspect is handled manually, like starting and parking the car.
