Pacific Drive

After its announcement last year, Ironwood Studios’ Pacific Drive has received an in-depth trailer explaining its gameplay loop. This first-person survival game with driving and “road-lite” runs sees players exploring the Olympic Exclusion Zone. Check out the video below.

Set in the Pacific West, various experiments were conducted in the Zone in 1955, which resulted in radiation and various other disturbances. Trapped in the Zone, your car is the only companion out in the wild, and repairing and upgrading it is necessary for survival. Scavenging parts and upgrading the garage allows for outfitting your vehicle in dozens of ways.

There’s plenty of exploration that needs to be done on foot as well, which can leave you vulnerable. Nevertheless, each run is unique as players learn more about the Zone and how to avoid the dangerous Instability that seems to occur.

Pacific Drive releases this year for PS5 and PC via the Epic Games Store. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
