In its seemingly never-ending mission to support No Man’s Sky until the heat death of the universe, Hello Games’ newest update, Forsaken, is now available. Yes, we really did get it for the space-faring title before Destiny 2, but it’s not quite about venturing into sketchy Awoken territory to hunt Barons.
Instead, No Man’s Sky: Forsaken introduces “haunting mementos” to infested outposts, derelicts and dig sites. Collecting them isn’t a matter of smash-and-grab either, as “hostile boundary horrors” will emerge over time. Thankfully, new traders will take them off your hands for fresh corvette modules, which include hull structures for a biomechanical look.
They even have a new Multi-Tool, the Larva Cannon, with new helmet customization, the Larva Tank, also available with enough progress. Of course, that’s not all. Forsaken adds a minimal HUD option for a more immersive experience, seamless warping between stars in neighboring systems (no need to use the Galaxy Map), a radial menu for Multi-Tool modes, and more.
Check out some of the patch notes below (with full details here) or watch the latest trailer below. No Man’s Sky is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Today’s update also marks the game’s iOS launch. Head here for the deep dive.
7.10 Patch notes
Forsaken Traders
- A variety of haunting mementos have manifested around the galaxy; appearing at infested outposts, deep-space hulks, derelict freighters, and buried between the bones at planetary digsites.
- Travellers will need to apply caution when harvesting these mementos, as prolonged exposure will attract the attention of hostile boundary horrors.
- Drawn to these collectable curios, forsaken traders can now be summoned at space outposts. Trade mementos to these enigmatic shopkeeps in exchange for a range of new spooky corvette modules, including cockpits, habs, and biomechanical hull structures.
- Forsaken traders also stock a living Larva Cannon Multi-Tool, purchasable for the right quantity of preserved grubs.
- Determined salvagers can earn a unique player title and Larva Tank helmet customisation.
Minimal HUD Mode
- In-game Heads Up Display (HUD) elements, such as the compass, hazard protection, and mission notifications, can now be set to “Minimal” mode, reducing visual noise for experienced players.
Space Courier Missions
- Travellers with a corvette and gravitino coil can now undertake package courier missions from deep-space outposts.
