Unicorn Overlord

Vanillaware’s Unicorn Overlord received several new details recently, discussing various mechanics like Forts, Quarries and rebuilding towns. Some new gameplay is also available courtesy of Famitsu, showcasing more exploration and combat on PS5. Check it out below.

Players can encounter characters roaming the world and engage in conversations, potentially recruiting them (with over 60 playable characters). You can also meet them during battles and have them join your side, bolstering numbers against an overwhelming threat. Each character has a unit of fighters and other heroes who can attack or buff their teammates accordingly.

Of course, if you don’t want to sit through every encounter, there’s also an auto-battle function to quickly resolve conflicts without leaving the world map screen. Unicorn Overlord is out on March 8th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch. The main quest requires 50 hours, but those seeking to do everything may take upwards of 100 hours.
