Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League being a live service looter shooter may have drawn criticism from plenty of people, but the prospect of Rocksteady developing a game based on the IP is still an intriguing one, especially given the spectacular job the studio did with Batman in its Arkham trilogy. Whether or not the developer is able to replicate that with Suicide Squad remains to be seen, but one particular newly-emerged detail will likely put a smile on your face if you’re a fan of the IP.

As caught by MP1st, it recently emerged during DrLupo’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League endgame stream that if, for whatever reason, players aren’t following mission orders, true to form, their character’s head will be blown off by Amanda Waller, leader of Task Force X.

Amusingly enough, that reveal came as a result of the aforementioned streamer experiencing a hard crash. Loading back into the game afterwards, he was told he had strayed too far away from his teammates, and following a countdown – during which Waller started issuing threats – Captain Boomerang’s head was blown up by a bomb, which, of course, is placed inside each Task Force X member’s head by Amanda Waller as a means of keeping them in line. It’s certainly a clever way to put a twist on a familiar trope in multiplayer games, and more importantly, in a way that’s very true to the property the game is based on.

More details on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and its integration of DC’s Elseworlds will be revealed when the next episode of its Insider series goes live tomorrow, on January 22.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launches on February 2 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
