Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth received widespread critical acclaim from critics in the lead-up to its release, becoming the highest-rated game in the series to date, and it seems that’s being reflected in how the game is performing. Having launched earlier today, the game has got off to a solid start, if its Steam numbers are any indication.

As per SteamDBLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealth hit a concurrent users peak of 34,344 players. That, incidentally, is the highest-ever concurrent users peak for a Like a Dragon / Yakuza game to date, with Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name’s peak sitting at 13,737 users, Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s at 9,535, and Like a Dragon: Ishin!’s at 8,461 users.

Granted, the Sega franchise wasn’t even available on Steam until a few years ago, but it’s quickly found a sizeable audience on the platform since its relatively recent debut, and the recently-released Infinite Wealth only seems to be expanding that audience further still.

In addition to its solid engagement numbers, the game is, as you might expect, also selling quite well on Steam. On the platform’s global top sellers charts, it currently sits in fourth place, behind Palworld, Enshrouded, and Tekken 8, which also released today.

In our review of the game, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a staggeringly massive RPG featuring the culmination of all that RGG Studio, and the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise, have worked towards over the last two decades. An incredibly high-quality experience that doubles down on everything that was beloved about the previous entry, Infinite Wealth completes the series’ transformation into a genre-leading JRPG franchise.” Read the full review through here.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
