Fresh off the first behind-the-scenes episode for Rise of the Ronin, Team Ninja also shared new details on the game’s three big cities – Yokohama, Kyoto and Edo – on the PlayStation Blog.

Yokohama is the first big city one visits. Along with Tokaido Road and its various inn-towns on the outskirts, there’s Yamashita to the southeast, which serves as the lower town to the upper Yamate. “In accordance with provisions set out in the US-Japan trade treaty, it is the site of the Foreign Settlement, where soldiers from various nations are stationed.”

Motomachi is also in the southeast and is where Chinatown resides. Players can find “various trinkets for sale and unique architecture characteristic of Chinese cultures, such as the grand Kanteibyo Temple, a colorful temple dedicated to the ancient Chinese hero, Guan Yu.”

As for Edo, which serves as the Edo Shogunate’s base, there’s the Kojimachi district of samurai protecting the castle. Asakusa features the likes of Sensoji Temple and Azuma Bridge, and it’s a significant den of activity. Nihonbashi, is one of the more famous sights, with five major roads starting from this point.

Finally, there’s Kyoto, where the Gosho district holds the emperor’s palace and aristocratic manors. Mibu is south of Nijo Castle, and players can discover Mibu Temple and Mibudera Temple, the latter used for training the Shinsengumi.

Rise of the Ronin launches on March 22nd for PS5. Check out some gameplay from the latest overview trailer, and stay tuned for more details.
