Capcom has released the first teaser trailer for Street Fighter 6’s final Year 1 pass character – Akuma. Launching in Spring 2024, he’s older but just as fierce. Check out some of his classic techniques in the teaser.

From hard-hitting strikes to the motion for Hadoken, Akuma eventually unleashes a massive Shoryuken to break through a falling boulder and behead the statue above him. Along with appearing in Fighting Ground as a playable character, Akuma appears in World Tour. Yes, he become your character’s Master, and you’ll undertake new missions for him. He even gets a dedicated area, Gokuento, in World Tour.

As for the future, director Takayuki Nakayama appeared during the Capcom Highlights Day 2 broadcast and confirmed that sound-related features and Battle Hub events are in the works. He also confirmed that Year 2 content is in development, though specific details are forthcoming.

Street Fighter 6 is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Check out our review here.
