In a recent reveal livestream, Deck Nine Games offered new details and footage for Life is Strange: Double Exposure. It sees the return of Max Caulfield from the very first game in the franchise, as she investigates the murder of her friend, Safi. Of course, the question on everyone’s mind (besides “Where’s Chloe?”) is what ending the title follows.

Life is Strange offered two very different outcomes when all was said and done. However, the developer confirmed that it’s not taking a single one as canon, choosing to honor both endings instead. The events of the entire game are reflected in Double Exposure. Those new to the series can also rest assured that they won’t have to play the previous games to enjoy the story.

While there won’t be any save transfer for the first game, a conversation early in the game allows Max to make choices based on one’s experience (including Chloe’s status). If you want to see how things could be different and go with other choices, that’s also an option.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure launches on October 29th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch version coming later.
