The First Descendant - Luna

While The First Descendant’s first content update goes live today, director Minseok Joo offered more details on future changes. These include a new system to ensure players are guaranteed an item after completing an activity multiple times.

As for the issue of disposing of Descendant and weapon blueprints, the developer is working on a new system to dismantle them for “byproducts.” The latter would be exchanged in a rotating shop for “something of value.” It’s also working on adding an “environment” where players can experiment with different builds by assigning socket types to loadouts.

The above changes will be discussed during Seasons 1 and 2, so stay tuned for further updates. As for balancing, Joo said the team wants to have a shifting meta when going from one season to the next. He noted that skill-based Descendants are very good right now – the team is thus looking to “increase the proportion of firearm-based combat in the endgame.”

“We can’t promise that all Descendants and weapons will be equally balanced at all times, but our goal is to keep changing the effective builds. To that end, we promise to constantly adjust and offer different ways to play with new content.”
