EA has unveiled its newest sports entry, EA Sports NHL 25. The game is slated for release on October 4, and will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. EA Sports NHL 25 was announced with a trailer, which you can check out below.

One of the big new features in EA Sports NHL 25 is what the company refers to as the ICE-Q Intelligence System. Essentially, the new system allows for more realism in gameplay, thanks to a new logic-driven animation system and a more realistic response to contextual events.

The game will also feature Vision Control skating, which will give players greater control over the athlete as they skate through the rink and square up to the puck carrier. For players interested in duking it out against the AI, the game also features smarter systems that make use of authentic plays.

EA Sports NHL 25 will feature Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Canucks, and Jack and Luke Hughes of the New Jersey Devils as its cover athletes.

The game will feature a host of other gameplay updates, including skill-based one-timers, a simplified single-path XP-based progression shared across its HUT mode, and even a new Grudge Match system, that tracks the history of matchups between teams in all online and offline modes, adding more drama to future matchups through the use of special X-Factors.

EA Sports NHL 25 will be available in a Deluxe Edition, which includes 7 days of early access, 4,600 NHL Points, HUT NHL Player Pack, HUT “Hockey is Family” Objectives Choice Pack, HUT Cover Athlete Choice Pack, HUT Wildcard Starter Choice Pack, WOC Battle Pass XP Boost, exclusive WOC Player Set, and extra bonuses in EA Sports NHL 24.
