Metaphor ReFantazio

Even in a period as densely packed with major releases as this one, Metaphor: ReFantazio stands as one of the biggest releases to look forward to. Based on early reviews for the fantasy RPG, it’s yet another knockout punch by the creative leads behind the Persona series, and as excitement continues to go in the lead-up to its release, the Japanese developer has released a new launch trailer to further drive up the hype. Check it out below.

Metaphor: ReFantazio takes the Persona template and applies it with a unique twist to the fantasy RPG space, featuring a mix of dungeon crawling, social sim elements, and time management, with a calendar system implemented. Combat also takes cues from Atlus’ past titles, but mixes in real-time action elements, while the Archetype system encourages greater room for build and party customization.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is due out on October 11 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PC. An extensive demo of the game is available on all platforms, allowing players to play the beginning of the game, and then carry over save data into the full game when it releases.
