Subnautica 2

After confirming its development and teasing images of it in the first game, Unknown Worlds Entertainment’s Subnautica 2 is confirmed for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will be available for the former via Game Preview while launching in early access for the latter in 2025. Check out the first trailer below.

The sequel features new environments, creatures and secrets to discover on a fresh new planet. As previously announced, there will be support for co-op, though it’s completely optional. However, the developer assures that it will still prove familiar for solo players.

In the months leading up to early access, there will be more details on tools, vehicles, base building, and creatures, including some brand-new additions, so stay tuned.

Subnautica 2 will also be available on day one for Game Pass. Though touted by publisher Krafton as a games-as-a-service title, it won’t feature Battle Passes or other such mechanics. It’s also developed on Unreal Engine 5.
