Monster Hunter Wilds

Along with announced open beta dates for Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom revealed a new gameplay trailer for the title during its latest showcase. It takes us to a new locale, Oilwell Basin, where oil and the widespread flames during the “Firespring” reign supreme. Check it out below.

In the midst of this is the village, Azuz, which features the Everforge. The situation is dire for its people as new monsters roam about, including the Brute Wyvern Rompopolo, who uses gas to weaken players and cause eruptions in the ground and Ajarakan, a Fanged Beast that gives Rajang vibes. The latter is covered in armor and climbs overhead before dropping down to attack.

There’s also a mysterious octopus-like monster known as the Black Flame. Is there any connection with Arkveld, the White Wraith? Time will tell, but the number of mysterious threats is increasing.

Monster Hunter Wilds launches on February 28th, 2025, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. The open beta runs from October 31st to November 3rd, though PlayStation Plus subscribers can play from October 28th to October 30th.
