
Game Overview:
Ghost of Yōtei is an open world action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch and published by Sony.
It is a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. Set 300 years after its predecessor, it stars a new protagonist in a new setting.
"If you’re going to tell a ghost story, do it in a dramatic location," says Sucker Punch's Nate Fox, who praised Hokkaido's beauty.
Shuhei Yoshida spoke about how, despite the challenges western games face in Japan, Sucker Punch's games have been well received.
The open-world action-adventure title launches on October 2nd for PS5 and takes place over 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima.
Players will also be able to pursue protagonist Atsushi's six targets on her quest for revenge in whatever order they wish.
However, Sucker Punch's Jason Connell notes that playing with such a variety of weapons is "so new for the game’s feel."
"One of the greatest joys is just getting lost. You let your curiosity guide you through the landscape," per co-creative director Nate Fox.
Atsu will also gather leads and hunt the Yōtei Six while completing bounties and unlocking new skills from different weapon sensei.
The $79.99 Deluxe Edition includes an early unlock for Traveler's Maps, an alternate starting armor dye, and The Snake's armor set.
Play as Atsu, who takes up the mantle of Ghost to hunt down a gang of outlaws who slaughtered her family and left her for dead.
The former PlayStation executive confirmed that the open-world title was "kind of bug-free," even during the early development stages.
