Silent Hill 2 will end the year as one of its biggest wins, something that not many would have predicted until a few months ago, so it’s no surprise that interest is high in whatever it is its development team ends up doing next. We know, of course, that a separate team within Bloober Team is currently working on Cronos: The New Dawn, which is due out next year- but what will the Silent Hill 2 team move on to next?

According to Wojciech Piejko, who’s the game director on the aforementioned Cronos: The New Dawn, that, too, has been put into motion. Speaking in an interview with MP1st, Piejko confirmed that the Silent Hill 2 dev team has now started pre-production on its next project.

“Within Bloober Team, we have two production teams,” Piejko explained. “Both teams operate independently, however the whole team is sharing the experience of working on previous projects like The Medium, Observer, Layers of Fear, Silent Hill 2, Blair Witch etc. And all I can say today is that after the completion of work on Silent Hill 2, the team will conduct the pre-production work on a new project.”

Interestingly enough, Piejko also revealed that Silent Hill 2’s audio team is now working on Cronos: The New Dawn. The former’s audio design was one of its most widely praised elements, so that’s certainly good news for Cronos.

As for what the Silent Hill 2 team is working on next, that’s anyone’s best guess- though the assumption (or hope) for many will likely be another Silent Hill project. After all, Bloober Team has suggested multiple times that it may very well end up working up Konami on another Silent Hill game in the future.
