Pragmata

During its recent showcase, Capcom has revealed more information about its upcoming action game Pragmata. Along with giving us a quick overview of the general story of the game, the latest video released for Pragmata also gives us a look at how its core gameplay will work.

The protagonists of Pragmata are Hugh Matthews, who gets caught in a Lunar quake and ends up being saved by an android girl named Diana. The two must then work together in their efforts to return to Earth. Both characters have distinct personalities, with Hugh being a kind but sarcastic man, and Diana being curious about the world around her but still shrouded in mystery.

As the duo work their way through the Lunar research station, they will end up facing enemies, which is where the game’s unique mix of puzzle and action-based gameplay will come into play. While Hugh has weapons that he can use to take on enemies, their weaknesses can only truly be exploited by hacking into them by using Diana’s abilities.

Diana can, for example, use her hacking ability – which gives players a quick puzzle-based minigame to solve – to force the enemy’s armour to open up, giving Hugh a clear shot at their weak points. It is worth noting that both the hacking and the main combat itself are happening simultaneously, so players will have to be careful in avoiding enemy attacks as Diana hacks through their defenses.

We also get a look at the main setting of the game – the AI-controlled Lunar research station where the Delphi corporation was researching a new material that could be used to 3D print more complex objects, from microchips, to cars, to entire buildings. The research station has seemingly been abandoned by its human researchers, however, with the AI and its legion of robots standing in your way.

Pragmata is coming to PC (via Steam), PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. A demo of the game will also be available to try out at Gamescom 2025 from August 20 to August 24.
