Capcom has released a new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds showcasing all of the new content coming to the game with its title update 2. Headlining the update will be a new addition to the game’s roster of monsters – Lagiacrus. Joining the monster will be another fan-favourite returning – Seregios. The update is slated for release on June 30. Check out the trailer below.

Lagiacrus first made its debut as a member of the Monster Hunter roster back in 2009 with Monster Hunter Tri. At the time, one of the core aspects of hunting Lagiacrus was mastering underwater combat. While subsequent appearances of the monster in the fourth generation of Monster Hunter games – Generations and Generations Ultimate – lacked underwater combat, the Monster Hunter Wilds rendition of the monster is seemingly bringing the gameplay mechanic back.

Seregios – originally debuting in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate – will also be coming to Monster Hunter Wilds in title update 2. The monster was confirmed towards the end of the newest trailer.

Along with the new monsters, title update 2 will also bring the much-requested layered weapons feature to Monster Hunter Wilds. Using the feature, players can use any weapon they like while making them look like something else. Layered weapons can be acquired by crafting the last weapon in its respective tree. For example, getting the highest tier Rathalos longsword will allow you to use that look for other longswords.

The update will also bring with it the second Arch Tempered fight, this time around featuring Uth Duna, complete with new Gamma armour sets. Photo mode is also getting new features in the update, including new colour filters and options to hide or add other characters.

Capping things off, Capcom has also announced a collaboration with guitar company Fender. Celebrating the 20th anniversary and the Rathalos-themed stratocaster released earlier this year, Monster Hunter Wilds is also getting an in-game emote featuring the same guitar.

Capcom has also revealed that, following title update 2, Wilds will also get other content, including a summer-themed seasonal event, and other event quests. Monster Hunter Wilds is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Check out our review for more details.
