Avatar Frontiers of Pandora

Still sad that Cyberpunk 2077 hasn’t received New Game+ or a Third-Person Mode? Massive Entertainment’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is getting both in a big new update on December 5th. It arrives roughly two years after the game’s launch on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out the trailer below.

According to creative director Omar Bouali, “We’ve always envisioned Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora as a living world that evolves with our players. This update is a celebration of our community’s passion, and we’re thankful to our players for their support. It means the world to our team.”

Third-Person Mode offers exactly what the name indicates, shifting the perspective behind your playable Na’vi as you jump, climb and shoot through the world. It’s more than a shift in view as Massive had to rework the camera, audio, animations, and more to implement it.

As for New Game+, it allows replaying the story with your current skills, items and weapons. While you fight more challenging enemies, stronger gear and even a new skill tree will be available to even the odds.

Stay tuned for more details on the update in the coming months. You can also check out our review for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora here, and our thoughts on its expansions, The Sky Breaker and Secrets of the Spires.
