With all the buzz around Resident Evil Requiem, it’s easy to forget about the rumors surrounding Capcom’s next remakes – Resident Evil – Code: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero. Reported by leaker Aesthetic Gamer, aka Dusk Golem, last year, they’re allegedly launching in 2027 or 2028, per a recent tweet.
Of course, the caveat is that they’re currently unaware of “which is coming out first and which second. But that’s what I’d say to expect.” When told their reports on Resident Evil are rarely accurate, Aesthetic Gamer responded, “This will be accurate.”
It’s worth noting that the latter reported that Resident Evil Requiem had open-world and multiplayer elements before its development reboot in 2021, which Capcom officially confirmed. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see if these remakes actually exist (and whether they’ll come to the Nintendo Switch 2).
Speaking of Requiem, it will receive an “exclusive new look” at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19th. The psychological horror title, which stars Grace Ashcroft and features first and third-person perspectives, is also playable for Gamescom attendees from August 20th to 24th. Stay tuned for more details ahead of its launch on February 27th, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
