Crimson Desert

With Pearl Abyss finally announcing a March 2026 release date for Crimson Desert, some new gameplay is available courtesy of IGN First. It shows protagonist Kliff participating in yet another castle siege, and while this is a little more straightforward, there are plenty of new abilities and mechanics to glean. Check it out below.

Traversal showcases more of the grappling hook, though it doesn’t immediately snap the player to locations, instead allowing them to slingshot into the air. From there, they can transition to gliding and dashing through the skies. While elements like Ice can be combined with weapons for attacks, you can also use them to boost into the air.

The spear gets some time to shine with its charged attacks and stabs, and a new boss, Fontaine, the Cursed Knight, is showcased. Surrounded by multiple soldiers who constantly shoot at Kliff, he also wields a cursed shield with a spectral knight that executes its own attacks. Defeat Fontaine and you can use the very same shield.

Crimson Desert launches on March 19th, 2026, for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. It’s also getting a physical release in partnership with PLAION.
