We were beginning to think that BigFire and NCSoft were being awfully quiet about Cinder City after that explosive trailer at Gamescom last year. But the developers have just dropped a brand new look into their dystopian take on Seoul overrun by monstrous mutants and a criminal organization known as Hyde, both of which are going to be problems you face down with your team of Cinderknights.
You’re stepping into the shoes of Seven, a Cinderknight who’s looking for his daughter, and uncovers a lot of information about the event that caused all of this trouble in the first place. It all takes place in the 23rd century, and things look quite sharp thanks to Unreal Engine 5 bringing the world to life. You could go solo, but it’s looking like this one is built around bringing your pals along to the party (such as it is).
We’re certainly going to, as the gameplay looks good enough to keep us hooked, while some of the enemies in the preview look vicious enough to make us glad for the backup. Cinder City is slated for a PC launch in the second half of 2026, complete with a lot of NVIDIA-supported features.
