Developer Pawprint Studio has released a new trailer for its upcoming free-to-play creature collection title Aniimo. The trailer, which you can check out below, focuses on showcasing the game’s world, its variety of creatures, and even hints at potential co-op gameplay.
Along with going out on adventures with your cute creature critters, Aniimo will also have you building up a homestead with them, complete with what appears to be a farming system where players and Aniimo can work together to grow plants and vegetables. Along with this, the title will also feature a large sci-fi city that might end up acting as its main hub.
Aniimo are shown to be living peacefully alongside humans, with many of the denizens of the city being strange creatures. Interestingly, we also get to see an Aniimo act like a delivery drone as it carries a package to its destination.
The trailer also showcases what kind of customization options it will feature, giving players quite a bit of control over not only the wardrobe of their own character, but also that of their Aniimo. The trailer wraps things up by showing the player character and their Aniimo companion running off to find more adventure.
As for the hints about potential co-op gameplay, early parts of the trailer show the character hanging out with other human characters. While not much has been confirmed one way or another, a multiplayer system seems to be a likely addition, since trading, battling, and even hanging out are major parts of franchises like Pokémon.
Aniimo was first unveiled in June last year with a trailer. The player takes on the role of a Pathfinder as they set off on a journey in the open-world RPG. While not too many details about its narrative framing have been revealed, Pawprint Studio has said that, on launch, it will include PvE and PvP gameplay, dungeons to explore, real-time combat, and even some puzzle-solving.
The title got its most recent trailer just last month, with Pawprint Studio also announcing that another closed beta was coming soon. Sign-ups for the beta are available on the game’s official website. The trailer used to announce this also gave us a glimpse of gameplay, along with some entirely new creatures from the game’s seas and skies.
When it comes to combat, players will have to figure out synergies between the abilities of their Aniimos, especially when they decide to take on some of the more challenging fights. The harder encounters will offer their own rewards, like golden eggs from which rare Aniimo can hatch.
Back in September 2025, Pawprint Studio confirmed that Aniimo will feature gameplay systems that one would expect from the creature collection genre, such as the ability to evolve your creatures. One example provided was that of Stellarys – one of the possible evolutions for Celestis that is only possible on rainy days. This unique process has led to Stellarys developing a special membrane capable of storing water for its own consumption, as well as for use in combat.
Aniimo is being developed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The title doesn’t yet have a release date.
