After exiting early access, Palworld is once again on everyone’s mind. Besides ranking high in Twitch viewer counts, it also nearly topped 500,000 concurrent players on Steam at launch. Of course, with the weekend, that figure has risen exponentially, which publishing and communications head John Buckley called “staggering.”
“Obviously, we had high expectations for 1.0 internally, but this is staggering. We really hope you are enjoying your time in Palworld again!” he said on Twitter. While showcasing over 700,000 concurrent players at the time, the official account followed up by celebrating 850,000 yesterday. It’s risen slightly higher since then and topped out at 855,525.
It may be nowhere near the all-time peak of 2,101,867 on Steam, but it’s a testament to the anticipation of Palworld’s 1.0 update. Since player counts on PS5 and Xbox aren’t factored in, the overall concurrent peak could be well into the millions, especially since the title is available with Game Pass.
As for 1.0, what can we say about it that hasn’t already been said? The biggest update for Palworld yet, and it’s not even a comparison, packs in 72 new Pals, a collection of floating islands called Skyreach, new equipment, the World Tree, new quests, and much more.
Even the existing world has received a massive revamp with new activities, overhauls (especially for Sanctuaries), towers, and more. Head here for the patch notes and to learn everything that’s changed.
