About three months after release, Fumi Games’ MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is celebrating a new milestone, crossing one million players across all platforms. It sold 730,000 units within its first month of launch, recouping all expenses for publisher Playside Games.
Of course, the mention of “players” this time around could include those who tried it on Game Pass, but it’s still a notable success considering the team’s size and the various delays. Fumi Games has continued to support the first-person shooter with bug fixes and new features, the latest allowing players to revisit previously completed levels, but there’s more to come with its story DLC.
When will that be? While there’s currently no concrete date, it responded on Twitter, “We’re working on it! We’ll share news when we can.”
Available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is the story of Jack Pepper, a private investigator looking for his best friend (and famous magician) Steve Bandel. Unbeknownst to him, this leads to a wide-ranging conspiracy across Mouseburg surrounding the Big Mouse Party, actor Vivian McCarthy, and more.
Check out our review, where we gave it a 9 out of 10, for more details on the storytelling, combat and just how well it captures that roaring 1930s noir aesthetic.
