Cold Iron Studios’ Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 launches on August 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It will have a Standard Edition for $49.99 and the 40th Anniversary Premium Edition for $69.99.
The former, as you’d expect, only includes the base game, but the latter offers Ripley’s Hive Exterminator Pack. It includes an outfit themed after the titular character from the 1986 film accessible to all customizable characters. You can also wield her Pulse Rifle, which has a “fiery surprise” to help recreate that iconic scene (minus the Power Loader).
The other piece of content is Herk Mondo’s Perk Pack based on the intergalactic Xenomorph hunter extraordinaire. You get his version of the Pulse Rifle – a massive, powerful thing – and a fitting outfit for your character. There are also custom decals to further up the customization.
If either of those entices you to pick up the 40th Anniversary Premium Edition later on, then you can upgrade for $19.99. Interestingly, in keeping with the leaked document about the game’s existence from June 2024, there’s no mention of post-launch content or DLC. Perhaps we’ll learn more en route to the game’s launch later next month.
