Team 17 and Absolute Games have brought Worms: Galactic Tactics into the spotlight. It’s an interesting one, bringing the franchise’s signature humor and colorful vibes to a turn-based gameplay loop that pits you against rival teams in levels that are designed to support the mayhem that follows.
You’ve got different ways to give your opponents a hard time, and things can get quite intense when your opponent brings in intelligent tactics and skills to rival your own. All of this is presented with an overhead view that really lets all the action – and explosions – pop up in all their glory. This one’s looking like it brings everything we love about Worms to the table.
A tournament of some kind, set in outer space, seems to be the reason for all the madness although the Worms never really needed one to blow up as much of the places they visit as they can before.
It came with an announcement trailer, which had an interesting revelation about another Worms game in development. We’re going to have to wait and see if it’s a remake of a classic, or perhaps a new title entirely. You can take a look at it below.
