Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 stopped by at the latest State of Play to show off its potential for player expression with a new trailer.
We already knew that you get to pick your character and create your own story as a new recruit for the Great Saiya Squad, but this new trailer ties in the Soul Assist system quite nicely with its emphasis on player agency, and the result is a potential for some truly unique characters and builds. Of course, it also brings a layer of unpredictability to the game’s combat thanks to how deeply customizable each character is, and how that can mean you never know what’s coming when you face off against a new opponent. We’re also quite intrigued by Broly’s second appearance in the game’s promotional materials in this trailer, and we’re beginning to suspect we’re going to be taking him on in some form in the new game.
We certainly hope that’s the case, as he’s definitely somebody you can truly push your character’s limits against. But then again, the same can be said for a lot of the game’s cast. The more the merrier, we say, and the fact that we get to add our own creations into the mix is definitely something we’re diving into as soon as it drops sometime next year.
