Developer Firesprite has released a new trailer for its upcoming narrative horror game Until Dawn 2. The trailer, which you can check out below, was showcased during Sony’s recent State of Play event and revolves around the various choices that players will be forced to make throughout the story and the consequences of these choices.
The new cast of Until Dawn 2 is showcased quite a bit here, along with the general framing of the story that essentially involves some kind of panel where the characters answer questions from the audience. Along with this, the ghost-hunting crew is also haunted by their experiences at Blackwood Sanitorium. However, they are then led to Akishima Island – an abandoned, remote paradise that is hiding plenty of secrets to uncover.
Much like the original Until Dawn, players will get plenty of chances to make choices that can bring in major changes to the entire narrative. Some of the examples in the trailer include a character following a radio signal or trying to cross a bridge, with both paths offering severe consequences. Another example involves a character having to choose between either sacrificing a chicken for the sake of a TV show or cutting her own palm to offer the blood necessary for whatever rite they are performing.
The title was unveiled back in June, and despite sharing its name with the original Until Dawn, the sequel will tell its own story with an entirely new cast of characters.
Until Dawn 2 is being developed exclusively for PS5 and is slated for release on January 28th.
